Good people celebrates 7 years in Birmingham.
We’re turning a whole hand plus two! Come join us for a few on Saturday, July 4th for our 7th Birthday Celebration!
This event is open to the public and everyone is welcome, including kids and pups. There’s no need for tickets. We just want to see y’all!
We also are hosting a couple bands throughout the day! Brantly Charles will be playing from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. and Ham Bagby from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.. Stay tuned for more music announcements!
July 4th Festival 2015

The City of Homewood and the Homewood Parks & Recreation Board will celebrate the 4th of July in Downtown Homewood. Two blocks of 18th Street South & One block of 29th Ave South will be blocked for pedestrian traffic in Downtown Homewood to make way for rides and attractions. Our event opens to the general public at 5:00pm. There will be a combination of inflatables/rides placed in the streets that will appeal to children of all ages. A DJ will provide music and interactive activities for the patrons at the event. Downtown Homewood is by far one of the best locations in the entire metro Birmingham area to view the “Thunder on the Mountain” fireworks show from Vulcan Park ( http://visitvulcan.com/july-4th-fireworks/ ). All of our activities will end at the beginning of the fireworks display.
There is no admission charge to enter the downtown event area but to ride and play on the attractions an unlimited attractions wristband ($10) must be purchased. A tent selling attractions wristband will be located near the intersection of 18th Street South and 29th Avenue South. Proceeds from ride sales benefit the Homewood High School Band.
Jazz in the Park

Oak Mtn State Park
Join us at Oak Mountain State Park for our Second Annual fireworks show!
Vendors will be selling food and drink all day, See our flyer for details! Shuttles will be running from the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre from 5pm to 8pm for a parking fee of $5. Flip Side and Russell Marine will be providing guests with water sports demos starting at 2pm! There will be live music, a live radio broadcast, and SO much more!
THUNDER ON THE MOUNTAIN 2015
For decades, Thunder on the Mountain has been hailed as one of the largest and most extravagant Independence Day traditions in the state of Alabama—and this year will be no exception. On Saturday, July 4 at 9 p.m., Thunder on the Mountain 2015 will once again illuminate the skies above Birmingham’s beloved iron man, Vulcan. Free to the public, this year’s show will last approximately 20 minutes and will feature a variety of firework shells that will brighten the sky with new colors and patterns. The show will be choreographed to a musical soundtrack that will feature a mix of patriotic favorites and popular music.

PLEASE NOTE: THAT VULCAN PARK AND MUSUEM WILL CLOSE AT 6:00PM No spectators will be allowed inside the park or at the entrance to Vulcan Trail.

The July 4 weekend festivities are not limited to the fireworks show.
On Friday, July 3 from 6 p.m. to midnight, REV Birmingham & The Five Points South Merchants will be hosting the Good People 4th of July Birthday Pub Crawl throughout participating restaurants and bars in Five Points South. A complete schedule of the two day event and information can be found on the Five Points South website

During the day of July 4, come by Vulcan Park and Museum to see the fireworks setup and then at 6 p.m. one can either attend the Birmingham Barons game or the free “Jazz in the Park!” concert at the Railroad Park amphitheater and later view the fireworks with soundtrack from either location.
