What to do in Birmingham this weekend: Feb. 20th
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – So it has been pretty cold around the Magic City over the last few days. But there are plenty of fun things to do this weekend that can help warm you up! Antwon Ervin of Discover Birmingham is here to tell you about some of the fun (and indoor) things to do this weekend, and beyond, in Birmingham!
Friday night you can head to Vulcan for the Red Stiletto Party (7 pm – 6 am)
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama Junior Board is hosting the 7th Annual Red Stiletto Party and Fashion Bar at Vulcan Park and Museum on Friday, February 20th, 2015. Cocktails begin at 7:00 pm and the Fashion Show will start at 8:00 pm with music and dancing to follow. Tickets include food, drinks, access to our Fashion Bar where you can be caught up on the latest trends by Birmingham’s best, free Museum entry, photos, dancing, silent actions, giveaways and more. Purchase tickets online here or you can purchase tickets from a Junior Board member to be entered for a chance to win great prizes. NOTE: You must be 21+ to enter.

Looking for something fun to do in the upcoming week? Check out the Celebration of 2nd Ave PioneersThursday, February 26th from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
Head over to the historic and newly renovated Florentine Building for an evening of storytelling, networking and celebration of the legacy of 2nd Avenue North! The event starts at 6:30 pm, where you can grab some food and drinks before you sit down for the show. Programming starts at 7:00 pm with a “Story of 2nd Ave District’s Past”. Next up Ugly Baby Improv comedy group (who also has a show on Wednesday at Avondale), is going to perform an improvisational comedy segment about “Life on 2nd Ave”, before launching into the final portion of the event, a late night talk show style interview with Tom Wrzesien OF Urban Standard, and Joy Myers of Art Walk, presented by your host Chris Davis. It ends with all the Pioneers on 2nd Ave talking about the upcoming events.
